IF THE EARTH COULD SING

  • Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 1080 Main Street Buffalo, NY, 14209 United States (map)

Vox Lusciniae returns for its fifth project, IF THE EARTH COULD SING, coming to Buffalo on May 10, 2025.

A concert celebrating the work of Canadian composer Katerina Gimon, IF THE EARTH COULD SING speaks to themes of climate change, natural beauty, and the wonder of the earth beneath our feet. Featuring the USA premiere of Unsung: If the Earth could sing, a five-movement, 30-minute choral cycle inspired by climate change and scored for treble choir, percussion, and cello.

The program highlights Gimon’s use of graphic notation, aleatoricism, body percussion, and extended vocal techniques, taking singers and audience alike on a journey through what it means to sing in a contemporary musical scene—and an ever-changing natural world.
